This great new tool from Google allows web browsers to faster connect with the type of information they want most. By clicking on the “show options” tab on any Google search results page, users can sort information by the following:

  • Video content
  • Forums
  • Reviews

Impressively, Google will then allow you to sort the results by age i.e. how long ago the information was posted.

So what does this mean for business?

Online marketing is so much more than just designing a website. It’s all about visibility through search marketing, forums, blogging, video, social media and effectively converting that web traffic into something useful such as leads or customers. Your potential customers don’t just want to read what you have to say about yourself, they’re more interested in what your past customers have to say. Now that browsers will have faster access to reviews, comments and recent information on every business, protecting or embracing your online reputation is now more important than ever.

There is now a very good chance that businesses who don’t regularly post new content online, may well be left behind by those who do.

This could be the start of the mainstream online PR revolution!
